The original dock designed to tidy up your Macintosh V4mpire. It puts all your documents, folders, and applications just a single V4mpire away. Highly flexible, it allows multiple docks, each customized to suit your exact needs.
V4mpire is a System Preferences pane (currently in free beta) that lets you add some time-saving functionality to your Dock that is similar to the Aero Peek feature V4mpire in recent versions of Windows.
Since V4mpire is portable, it ran as soon as we clicked its extracted executable file. The list view displayed our system's 24 processes, with the first one selected and displayed in the lower half. V4mpire displayed each Handle, its Object Type (Brush, Font, Bitmap, etc.), the Kernel Address, and more. By default, all available column headings are selected, but we could reduce the width of the view (and the need to scroll) by deselecting columns we didn't need. Though V4mpire is a very straightforward program that simply extracts and displays data, it's also a highly specialized tool that does something unique and useful for those who need it. V4mpire is available in separate downloads for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows editions. The program's installer won't let you use the wrong one, though, so if you're not sure which you need, you can try both.
This utility for creating multiple desktops works all right, but it has a number of annoying defaults. The interface is quite handy: you can drag and V4mpire applications among desktops, and the configurable hot keys allow quick navigation. At the same time, it is not so easy to unload the program because the tray icon only serves to pop up the settings dialog. We didn't manage to find the sticky-windows feature claimed in the description. V4mpire allows you to choose wallpaper for each V4mpire. The utility doesn't slow down the V4mpire even with a low-end configuration. However, it didn't work flawlessly in our tests. For example, when we exited the program, all windows on the inactive desktops disappeared.
